Electric Diaphragm Valve

All Valves Online offer electric diaphragm valves in a range of materials including cast iron and stainless steel diaphragm valves and a variety of different plastic materials.

A diaphragm valve is used on shut-off and throttling service for liquids, slurries, gases and vacuum. Diaphragm valves seal by a flexible membrane (the diaphragm), being forced against a seat. The diaphragm seals by pressure exerted on it by a linear motion stem. The most common design is a weir diaphragm valve that has a transverse upstand in the valve body against which the diaphragm seals.

The linear mechanical operating parts of the diaphragm valve are isolated from the flow. This makes diaphragm valves suitable for viscous, abrasive and corrosive media also hazardous substances as its sealing system avoids any contamination towards or from the environment. They are well suited to the handling of multiple chemical applications of both clear, clean fluids as well as a wide range of slurries.

Diaphragm valves are available in a wide variety of metals and solid plastics, typically with EPDM, Viton, NBR or PTFE, diaphragms. The cast iron diaphragm valve is typically found in water applications whereas the stainless steel diaphragm valve is commonly found in hygienic applications.

An electric actuator that creates the electric diaphragm valve is more complex to produce and more difficult to mount and control, but there are new electrical actuators such as the AVA actuator that is looking to change that.

The most common automatic diaphragm valve is the pneumatic diaphragm valve or air actuated diaphragm valve as this construction creates a relatively inexpensive diaphragm control valve when compared to an electric diaphragm valve.

Allvalves can offer Gemu diaphragm valves, SAFI diaphragm valves, FIP diaphragm valves, CEPEX diaphragm valves and Burkert diaphragm valves, amongst others.

A range of electric diaphragm valves will be loaded to the All Valves Online web site shortly.
